Sherwood 11 Legend Rally 2010

Hi and welcome to ’the Legend’ webpage where you can find updates and other information relating to this year’s rally.
2010 marks the eleventh rally for Sherwood Chapter and once again we are holding the rally at the fantastic venue of Thoresby Estate, Sherwood Forest. The rally gates will be open to receive guests from midday Thursday 2nd September and run through to Sunday 5th September.
Tickets this year are £30 and this includes a commemorative pin. Also available when booking your tickets, are rally t-shirts - it is advisable to book your t-shirts with your ticket application as there will be a very limited number for sale this year at the rally merchandise tent. Electrical hook-ups for guests are available at £30 for the weekend, and these too have to be reserved when booking your tickets. A ticket application form is available to download on this website. All ticket applications must be submitted before 31st July.
For those of you who do not wish to pre-book your tickets, then you will be subjected to a £40 gate entrance fee and no pin, so it makes sense to get your applications in now!
This year’s rally will include a plethora of entertainment from silly games (hosted by Sam York) and live music to help us rock ’n’ roll through to the early hours. There’s a ride-in show for the Harley guys ’n’ gals who feel the need to show off their precious chrome and steel (hosted by Jane James). We will also have our legendary fireworks display, so there’ll be plenty of oohs and aahs for you to sing along to. There’ll be two ride-outs this year, the first on Friday and the main ’the Legend’ Ride-out on the Saturday morning.

If you are in two minds about coming along to ’the Legend’ Rally, then you need to read the feedback from last year’s rally.
We are expecting a good show of traders this year too, so bring your hard earned silver and leave some space in your saddlebags so you can take home some fantastic bargains, especially from the Sherwood Chapter Merchandise stall and the Robin Hood Harley-Davidson tent..!
If you are a trader and would like to set up shop at ’the Legend’ Rally then please drop an email to rallyinfo@sherwoodchapter.co.uk
There’ll be plenty to eat and drink at reasonable prices again this year. Those who attended last year’s rally can vouch for the quality of the liquid supplements and the small amount of silver pieces required in exchange for the coloured liquid. We do ask though, that if you decide to bring your own alcohol, then you consume it in the field as it will not be allowed into the courtyard and hall areas. But why bring your own when it’s cheap enough from the bars and better still - nice and cold..!

Historically, the weather for the first weekend in September in the Sherwood area has been exceptionally good. In the past eleven years we have had one wet and one damp weekend, the rest have been warm and sunny. The long range forecast has already been booked for white fluffy clouds and warm sunshine with a clear sky for the Saturday night entertainment in the skies.
Thoresby Estate is in the process of planning and constructing log cabins in the forest. At this moment we are unsure as to whether they will be available for us at the time of the rally. If they do become available then there will be an announcement on this website.
Below you will find links and information to local places of abode should you not prefer sleeping under canvas or in fibreglass wheeled sheds. All places of abode are within a few miles of ’the Legend’ Rally site and offer a good service and value for money - but do feel free to haggle.
