Rideout The Bull i' th' Thorne
25th of September
Meet at Robin Hood Harley-Davidson 12.00pm. Depart 12.30pm. Full tanks please. Heading out through the beautiful Derbyshire countryside towards Buxton on the A515, where we’ll stop for lunch/snack/drink at the Bull i’ th’ Thorn inn at Hurdlow (SK17 9QQ). This is a former Coaching Inn on the old roman road between Buxton and Ashbourne, and dates back to 1472 A.D. For those of you who haven’t been before, it’s well worth a visit (check out the website). After lunch we’ll re-fuel at a nearby petrol station, before heading back though the countryside via Ashbourne. Some single track lanes, a couple of tight bends, but not a difficult ride. Back approx 4.30 - 5.00pm.

Ride To The Wall III
2nd of October
Lead Road Captain: Steve Fox.
This Year’s 'Ride To The Wall' is taking place on Saturday 2nd October 2010.
This event has become a regular fixture in the Sherwood Ride Out Calendar, and this year, the honour of leading it has fallen to me.
The days events will follow the same pattern as last year - all travellers will meet at Donnington Services - ride to Drayton Manor, which is the Official Departure Point, where there is ample parking, and food / drink /toilet facilities for all. The Official Ride will commence about 11am and will be 'Marshalled' to the National Arboretum at Alrewas.
As Vince did last year, I have organised a meal after the ride (for those who are interested.)
This year, I have made a reservation for 80 at the John Thompson Inn at Ingleby (approx 20 miles from the site). This will ensure that as a group, upon leaving, we are far enough away from the other 5000 or so bikes which are anticipated to be in the area so we can all sit down together.
The John Thompson have very kindly agreed to do an after Hours service for us insofar as they normally stop cooking at about 2pm on a Saturday. This means that as far as dining is concerned - the pub is ours! - They have a good selection of drinks etc which will be available to all, including the product of their own 'Microbrewery'!
I understand that this stuff is an amazing Real Ale, however I’ve never had the pleasure!!
There is ample Tarmac parking for the bikes.
The details of the Pub can be found at WWW.JOHNTHOMPSONINN.COM
The meal will be purely a carvery in its basic sense - as I say they are providing us with this service especially (and free) - so it has been kept simple.
'The Landlord has given us the Pub at no cost - the meal will be charged at the prevailing rate on the day'
What I DO need, however are names of people who would like to join us. The reservation is for 80 - and it will be strictly on a first come first served basis.
I need to get numbers to the Landlord as soon as practicable so that he can 'staff up' etc.
I would ask, therefore that all interested parties contact me as soon as they know on the following.
E: - Steveef_1@hotmail.com M: 0775 3388173
Or via The Activities Officer Paul Allen or any other Committee Member.
There will be further updates in the coming few weeks in relation to this event so please watch this space!!
Thanks in anticipation
